Time Management (An interview}
Hey guys, Welcome back to the blog, Happy Easter!!! I trust you all are having an awesome weekend, your girl has been busy all week long but, I had to make out time for my baby. To be honest I need lessons on time management. I used to know how to manage my time better, but lately with more duties and assignments its really been a struggle. I know this is a struggle many people face. Procrastination, peer pressure and laziness are a few of the reasons we often find ourselves drowning in work load and we just go crazy about how the work is too much.
I had the draft of this post days before I posted the previous post(in fact weeks), I just didn't have the vim to start, until Stephanie did a presentation in class, she mentioned how she handled two jobs, sports and 6 courses every semester, then I knew what I had to do. This is my very first interview on the blog, while making this I was super excited about the results and I hope you loved them too. I think i'll be doing more interviews, on different people to help myself and you guys learn new things.

Q- Hey, Please Introduce yourself
Ans- My name is Stephanie Swan and I am a senior here at Webster (Final year). I am double majoring in Business Administration and management marketing. My hobbies are reading, writing, exercising and volley ball for stress relief.
Q- 5 things you dislike?
Ans-
(1)When professors question my capabilities.
(2)I dislike when people chew obnoxiously.
(3) When people touch me, unless I know you and we have that kind of relationship. same here sis!!
(4) Judgmental people
(5) Liars.
Q-How has your journey been so far (The study abroad experience here in Ghana) ?
Ans- So far the journey here has been really great. Honestly, everyone here has been very welcoming and accepting and its been a very different culture overall and its such a good thing to experience that. To have everyone watch you and want you to be involved in everything and they want be a part of your life and make sure you have such a great time, its a really good thing.
Q- Before you came here, how was life at St. Louis?
Ans- In Saint Louis its a lot different its definitely more spread out; the campus over all. You meet a lot of people over the years that you're there, but its also small enough that you have a group of people that you know are in your classes and also people you could reach out to for everything, even the professors and it also helps with the class sizes. Its big enough but you still meet new people everyday, like the people I came here with like Shannon ad Dylan I didn't know them until I came here and they've been going to my school for like years and its crazy to think about it, but at the end its still like a small campus feel.
Q- That's Great, So how did you mange everything The volleyball, school, work and everything? I was in your class when you mentioned something about time management during your presentation.
Ans- For time management its actually difficult and I know that, for me I just know that there is a time I need to get things done, so its easier for me to have a lot in going on in my life because I know I have class from lets say 9 am - 2 pm and after that I have volleyball practice from 3 pm-6 pm. So I know those are my allotted times for that and then I could have my meals and then like I have my homework to do. My big thing is writing everything down, your gonna forget you may say you wont forget but as long as its not written down you have a higher chance of forgetting. In terms of organization, my laptop was a big thing for me I had everything separated into folders I don't throw it all into one folder. Its all divided into my different folders from my Freshman year, sophomore year, junior year and senor year and they are all split into different classes from each semester, so I know exactly where to find anything.
Q- What was the hardest part of it all-
Ans- The hardest part is when everything catches up with you, I feel everyone has a moment when you know OK! this is a lot to handle like I have classes to go to, I have work to get too and there is also home work due and i'm not gonna be able to finish it all. The biggest thing for me is to just take like a twenty minute break and just relax and know its time for myself and just make list on the things I have to get done and as soon as I take that break, honestly for me it makes it so much easier rather than stressing yourself out and going straight into it and the work isn't done well.
Q- Whats your plan for the future ?
Ans- I'm still looking into different options but as of right now I have an opportunity to do a paid internship in Haiti which is involved with a school and a ministry as well which is helping kids out there. To be exposed to different cultures, I want to be able to travel and be exposed to so much this world is so big and there is so much to learn, I've learnt so much here when you're in one place its always focused on where you are but as soon as you expose yourself to other opportunities I feel it helps you grow so much more. Eventually I want to go back to get my master in public health so I can go on to do management for hospitals I could honestly do that in different countries like I am not limiting myself to one place, I'm really open to whatever opportunity come my way.
Also in terms of jobs its really important to network, to know people from different job fields, Create good relationships with professors, different staff, other students and people jobs out in the world it really helps you to have a lot of people with different opportunities and they know the kind of person that you are.
Q- what are the 5 things you have learnt generally?
Ans- I have learnt to accept failure, that's the number one thing for me because I am a perfectionist.
Secondly, to accept criticism as a means of making you better, constructive criticism and people are commenting out of love.
Thirdly, Through out the years I have learnt time management, it hasn't always been easy for me and also planning everything out hasn't. Its like trail and error ,you have to figure out what works for you, I think its really important.
Also, My Family, my family is my support system whenever I have an issue I know I can turn to them and they are gonna help me figure it out or just assure me its gonna be OK.
Lastly, Do not limit yourself, be accepting of everyone be exposed to different people and diverse cultures.

Q- What advise would you give in terms of time management?
Ans - Set up a way you can take care of things, I would say writing things down in your planner or schedule that's really important and also knowing that if your schedule doesn't go exactly as planned its gonna be OK and your still gonna be able to get things done. Be open with the people you are working with if you are struggling with your time and getting things done, I actually have a very open relationship with my professors and my coaches. They should have a basic understanding and I think if you are honest about that you wouldn't have any problems.
