My take on "THE PROBLEM"

I'm just gonna make this brief and probably continue some other time.

Nigeria as a nation should not be where it is today, we should have moved passed this stage of helplessness and stagnancy, a nation enriched with more than enough mineral resources and the best of minds when it comes to creativity and intellect. So what exactly holds this "great nation" from reaching its destined peak? Ourselves, the people in the nation, our so called leaders; who are leading no one but themselves to become multi-billionaires and do as they please.

The nation has wealth, the nation has brilliant minds, the nation has resources but CORRUPTION, GREED, INCOMPETENCE, TRIBALISM, RELIGION(to an extent) and much more come together to make our country seem helpless.

Lets not even begin to dig into Nigeria's history with corruption, Did it start now? NO, Nigeria has been sharing a bed with corruption for a long time, it is rooted deep in the system, from the executive, the legislature, the judiciary and down to the average police man is accused of corruption in Nigeria. I dare say GREED and CORRUPTION are our biggest issues right now. I heard on the radio that the U.N conducted a survey and concluded that the Nigerian police force has the most corrupt officials and to say the truth I am not even slightly surprised the things they do, they things people I know have gone through at their hands its terrible.

When it comes to INCOMPETENCE, I do not know where to start from, the alarming thing is their are many people who are capable of handling various posts and government appointments but if you do not know someone in the system, to get into the system is impossible. They flood top appointments and government contracts with their family, friends and people from their tribes(this is where TRIBALISM falls in), team up and just eat the money, while neglecting the qualified ones or pushing them to the bottom. With this mentality HOW ARE WE GOING TO MOVE FORWARD??

Imagine a state that has students who do not have basic education building 30  new mosques? sorry but how is growth and change supposed to come? Are we thinking things through? Who are advising this people? Are they even listening ?

So they recently passed a new law after the #nottooyoungtoorun was trending. They reduced the maximum age for contesting elections.

When I heard this I was happy, a chance for the youths too lead, enough of our grandfathers and their fathers leading us. The question is will things change ? Come 2019 or even 2018 campaigns will we the youths support our own or will we allow our grandfathers sell us the same old lies and then we steal ballot boxes ,terrorize people and Heaven forbid in the process kill ourselves for peanuts, while their children attend schools in developed countries and they watch from a safe distance. Its time to wake up and be the change we want to be, do what we need to do as ONE NATION, because this people we kill ourselves for don't even care neither will they show up for your burial.

THINK ABOUT IT. LETS BE THE SOLUTION.
